PSA Day 2013
Tuesday May 21 at CCTV
This is a message from the Concord Publice Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee:
"The Concord Public Ceremonies and Celebrations Committee would like to remind the people of Concord and Carlisle of our annual Dawn Salute ceremony that will take place at the Buttrick Hillside on Friday, April 19, at 6:00 AM.
The ceremony includes a 21 gun salute using both muskets from local Minute Companies, as well as cannon volleys by the Concord Independent Battery. In light of the tragic events that occurred on Monday at the 2013 Boston Marathon, the committee feels it prudent to caution the community of the harmless but thunderous blasts that will ring out on Friday morning.
The public is encouraged to attend the historic ceremony. In addition to the musket and cannon volleys, first-hand accounts of the events of April 19, 1776 will be read by actors portraying Rev. William Emerson, Hannah Davis, wife of Capt. Isaac Davis of Acton, and Corporal Amos Barrett, Capt. David Brown's minute company from Concord."
